What is the rationale behind the e.MAS 7 name?
The acronym stands for Electrifying Malaysia with the ‘e’ symbol for EV and MAS as the abbreviation for Malaysia. The number 7 is for the body size of the car so just like our SUV line has PROTON X70, our EV line has PROTON e.MAS 7.
We have initiated the process of constructing our NEV production plant, scheduled to be completed by the end of 2025. The local production of the e.MAS models shall commence accordingly upon completion.

Any future of CKD unit?
PROTON has the advantage of leveraging Geely technology and economies of scale. Hence, the initial project will be based on CBU.

The payment process is the continuation of the booking process. (We are using Razer Pay)

The coverage applies exclusively to corrosion originating from the inside and moving outward on the vehicle's body panels. The Proton e.MAS offers two options for home charging power which are 7kW and 22kW. The type of charger you can install depends on your home’s electrical capacity. Our technical team will perform an assessment to determine the most suitable charger type and phase for your setup.

Why doesn’t the Proton e.MAS offer an 11kW charger when the vehicle’s battery supports a power capacity of up to 11kW?
The Proton e.MAS doesn’t include an 11kW charger because its charging current is capped at 16 amperes, whether using single-phase or three-phase power. It supports a 7kW charging rate for single-phase supply.
A 22kW charger is recommended since an 11kW charger cannot provide the full 7kW output in a single-phase home, which could result in longer charging times for the vehicle.

The actual charging power could be limited to a lower rate depending on the electric supply capacity of the premise. For Proton e.MAS 7, the estimated range for 10%–80% SOC is around 8 hours for 7kW charging power and 6 hours for an 11kW charging power.

For public charging, the cost will vary depending on location, service provider and charging output. On average, the charging cost is comparable to RON95 when travelling the same distance. Can I just use Proton e.MAS authorized installer for the home charger installation?
The Proton e.MAS 7 comes with a complimentary Proton e.MAS Home Charger, which can be redeemed through your authorized Proton e.MAS dealer.
For hardware purchases, please contact your dealer directly. However, for Installation requests, it must be made through the Proton e.MAS App for a smooth and efficient process.
You may choose to install the home charger separately. However, to maintain the warranty coverage, the Proton e.MAS Home Charger must be installed by a PRO-NET approved installer. Using an unapproved installer will void the warranty on your home charger.

How long will it take to receive the home charger?
The installation timeline varies by region. In Peninsular Malaysia, installation typically takes 1–3 days after the installation fee and hardware payment are completed and paid to the installer. The installer will propose an installation date once the assessment is done and payment is verified. If there are any changes to the scheduled installation, the installer will inform you.
Expected installation times after payment to installer:
Peninsular Malaysia: 1–3 days
Sabah (Kota Kinabalu): 1–3 days
Sabah (Other areas): 1–2 weeks
Sarawak (Kuching): 1–3 days
Sarawak (Other areas): 1–2 weeks
W.P. Labuan: 1–2 weeks

What is the process to install the Home Charger?
There are Five (5) stages to the purchase process.
1) Assessment order: Once a customer has made a vehicle booking, the customer could request a home assessment via the Proton e.MAS app.
2) Technical assessment visit: to ensure the location can support the Home Charger before installation
3) Approval and payment: a proposal and quote will be provided. After approval and payment, the installation date is set.
4) Hardware: Customer must have completed vehicle registration and redeemed the home charger from their corresponding dealer prior to installation
5) Installation: The installation shall be performed at the same address stated on the assessment form.

How to make public charging payment using Apps?
What is the public charging step?
Use the charging map function in Hello smart or Proton e.MAS app.
Click on the charging station pin on the app, select the correct connector, add your payment card details, and press start charging. There is comprehensive video on smart Malaysia YouTube channel on how to use the Hello smart app to charge at public chargers

smart Points can be redeemed in Hello smart app to pay for charging while credit/debit cards are accepted on both Proton e.MAS and Hello smart app.

Can system accept all type of credit card: Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover?
The user can select online payment option for Hello smart and Proton e.MAS app to start charging. The app will prompt user to add the card info if it has not been added before. Before each charging session, the app will initiate a pre-authorization process with the payment card where a certain amount will be charged temporarily. Our app accepts all cards which are available in Razer payment gateway system.

Is there any estimated time frame for the refund of RM200 deposit back to the customer? How?
Any documentation required for the refund of RM200?
Similar to petrol pump pre-authorization, the amount will be released back to user's account automatically without requiring any action by the users. The period for this is not determined by PRO-NET and depends on both payment gateway and user card's banking system.

Why after charging end, the status in the Apps stated, ‘pending for settlement’?
Even though the user has pressed stop charging, the session has not ended until the charger has sent the charging record back to the system. Sometimes the record will only be sent from the charger to the system after the cable has been unplugged. This is due to the system is designed to capture the idle time which could result in an idle fee if applicable.

Why do I keep being charged even though I have stopped charging using App?

As there are more EVs on the road now, charging service providers are gradually implementing fees for the time the charger is occupied even when the car is not charging.
Please remove your car immediately after charging ends to allow for other users to use the charger and to avoid being charged for hogging the charger.
There will be no refund for this as the charger is considered still in use even when it is not charging, and it can't be used by another user.
